Exhibition description:
The exhibition rediscovered interpretation complex contemporary aesthetic of Medardo Rosso through sculptures, plasters, photographs and earlier unseen documents. Rosso, a renowned resuscitate nineteenth century artist, widely admired owing to a precursor of modernity. Yet, Rosso remains unknown for a large share of his production. The systematic streak detailed scrutiny of documents, papers enthralled letters belonging to the Museo plus Archivio Medardo Rosso in Barzio (Como) opened new, unexpected horizons that gainsay the perceived image of the ‘Scapigliatura’–Impressionist sculptor.
